If you own a maki-e brush, this is an important tool to have.  Use this acrylic wand to carefully push off residual lacquer from the brush-head after each use.   The curve and smooth surface will not damage the fine cat hair, and care should be taken not to touch or put heavy pressure on the delicate brush tip.  
 
Traditionally, this wand was made with agate.  We have found this economical acrylic version that works equally well.  Take good care in maintaining maki-e brushes and they will performing amazing work for you.
