The oval stacking wood bento box is probably the most iconic traditonal Japanese wood bento box of it all! It not only STACKABLE, it is also "insertable" to transform into a small compact object for storage or carrying. It comes with an extra lid so you can also use it as 2 independent bento boxes.  Check out the rectangle version if you are a pragmatic minimalist. 
 
Bentwood Artisan Masaji Sosogi made this exclusively for Goenne.  Carrying a heritage of 400 years, Issochi regional style bento box is made with 2 different kinds of woods (cedar and cypress).  It gives the box a whole different level of natural wood aroma. 
 
We know many of you love Japanese wooden bento box for the warm-to-touch raw wood finish.  So we have intentionally left this oval box entirely uncoated. 
Raw finish (uncoated) wood boxes retaining the lasting aroma of cedar and cypress, while helping your food to balance moisture, so rice and bread can stay fluffy.  It may take a little more care to use the box and expect to see more soulful wear-and-tear overtime.  
 
Issochi-style bento box is more hearty and hefty.  Made with 5mm bent hinoki wood, with a 1.5cm thick cedar lid.  

It comes with 2 loose dividers so you can portion the food. One common feature of Japanese bento boxes is tiering. One tier is for rice, the other tier for meat and vegetables. Tiering allows separation of different food and while the box size compact. Also great for sweets and bakery. Be sure to check the size before ordering.
