Fine tin powder for kintsugi use.   Tin is a good alternative to silver as silver tarnishes over time.

In the olden days, kintsugi powder options were only pure gold and pure silver.  As the craft modernized, Japan suppliers started producing fine dust powder with a range of metals so maki-e and urushi artisans have more options for their craft.

Tin is not as refined as pure gold and silver powder, after polishing, particle texture will still be visible.

Be aware that tin is a soft metal and may dent if area of repair is big (just another matter of wear-and-tear).

We recommend using pure gold and pure silver for repairing pottery that you would use for food and beverage. Tin is not food-safe unless it went through special coating treatment as in canned-food production.

Made in Japan.
